Erkin Abdurizaev is a Partner of Oil & Gas, Mining Practice.
He has substantial experience in the oil and gas and mining industries, as well as in project financing of large-scale infrastructure projects involving both domestic and foreign investors.
Erkin Abdurizaev has extensive experience in providing legal support to major projects across various sectors of the economy, including: work within the investment division of JSC “Uzbekneftegaz”; legal support to the Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC); heading the legal department of the Project Office for the implementation of the investment project “Development of the Yoshlik-1 Deposit” at Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine JSC (AMMC), which involved the construction of one of the world’s largest copper concentrator plants in the city of Almalyk; • management of UNDP projects on the Rule of Law; • advising the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD, UN); providing legal support to investors in geological exploration activities (IE KNOC Fergana Operating Company).

Key Experience
- Advising JSC “Uzbekneftegaz” in connection with the sale of three GTL plant units of Uzbekistan GTL to Air Products with a total value of USD 1 billion, providing legal support at all stages of project implementation, from structuring the transaction architecture to receipt of payment under the executed agreement
- Advising the Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) on geological exploration activities in the Dehkanabad and Tashkurgan investment blocks, covering all stages of project implementation, including drafting a Presidential Resolution, geological exploration agreements, contracts with contractors, conducting environmental expertise, agreements for interpretation of obtained seismic data, and liquidation of the SPV
- Managing the UNDP “Rule of Law” project, covering three core areas:
- development and implementation of an electronic case management system in the civil courts of the Republic of Uzbekistan
- improvement of the quality of judicial proceedings through training programs for judges and lawyers and publication of educational materials
- analysis of legislation, identification of legal conflicts, and development of proposals for their elimination.
